The Wilson Thrills is a 5-piece rock band from Birmingham, Alabama. They began playing live in December of 2010. Their style of music is heavily based in punk rock, but due to a college education in music composition, it’s not surprising for songs to get a little complicated while staying under the 3 minute mark.

Before The Wilson Thrills, Joey Wilson was a member of the band The Tangled Cord. Eventually, it disbanded and Wilson began writing songs and playing guitar solo. He recorded demos and played them for his friends, who ended up joining the band after liking what they had heard. Josh Crowe (keytar), who Joey calls his “right-hand man” was the first member. Then all the other members fell into place: Phillip Blevins (guitar), Jonathan Rawson (bass), and Dylan Hughes (drums).

In January 2011, The Wilson Thrills recorded a 7 song CD with Les Nuby of Vulture Whale. After performances at The Firehouse, The Bottletree Café, and other local venues, the band will release their debut CD at Birmingham-Southern College during Joey Wilson’s senior music recital featuring The Wilson Thrills.
